T4W1         Night of the Notables Proposal

Muhammad Ali

Without a doubt Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer of all time. Not only was Muhammad physically gifted, but he was also a passionate ambassador for the racial scandals going on in his time of living. As a young child he saw and lived in racially unfair conditions. He experienced harsh scenarios himself. That’s where he got his drive and hunger from. He was motivated easily because his bike was stolen. He then wanted to punch the robber. He approached a nearby police officer and politely requested for the police officer to allow him to box the thief. The officer (known as Joe Martin) was the local boxing coach. He wanted Cassius (as he was known at the time) to learn how to box before he started physically hurting people. He invited Cassius to his boxing gym. He was a confident character that has lots of information and things to display while I am explaining.

He was a popular figure to the community around him because he was brave enough to stand up for his people when everyone else worried about the result of doing so. He was fearless and some of the things he said had a really deep meaning to them, and I think people need to understand what he was trying to publicize. The difficult living conditions and lack of opportunities for him really held him back for the long term as he had potential to do anything with the sacrificial mindset and the people around him that supported him. I believe I should do Muhammad because he is known as the world-famous boxer and athlete however people haven't dug deep into his personal struggles and prevention from racism.

Proposal

Muhammad because he is known as the world-famous boxer and athlete however people haven't dug deep into his personal struggles and prevention from racism.

The decision of Muhammad’s to not participate in the Vietnam war came after he explained in a tv interview (this was on the 20th of April 1967 in Louisville Kentucky) that he didn’t want to travel 10 000 miles to help murder and kill other poor people to continue the domination of white preference of the darker people of the earth. He was prepared to take fines and jail time for this controversy. He described the process of building a military was deciding what type of punishment the people with a religion should receive.

Ali had a strict diet with only a few options of nutrition that would keep him healthy and in shape for an upcoming fight. He had the normal options of protein for his muscles. A few of his favourites were chicken, steak, vegetables, grains and fruit. When not preparing for a fight, he enjoyed a hamburger. Although it was a rare occasion that he was allowed to have one. He was satisfied that he had never had a drop of alcohol or a smoke of a cigarette. Muhammad had plenty of well-known fights but one in particular which is known as the ‘fight of the century’ had everything in it. It was a bout between Ali and Joe ’Smokin Joe’ Frazier. This fabulous fight was on Monday March 8, 1971, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

These two had previously fought once. And Frazier took that fight out defeating Ali in is first defeat as a professional heavyweight boxer. In their next encounter Ali made the score even defeating‘Smokin Joe’ in a 14-round fight. These two had a tremendous rivalry. The media hyped the buildup to these fights up a lot as they knew they would receive an amazing fight in compensation.

In conclusion, the impact he had on the unfortunate community gave them confidence to stand up for themselves like Muhammad did. For his confidence and sacrificial personality, he was a popular person around the boxing community and the people fighting for their privileges in the black community. He had reasons for not going to war because he wasn’t willing to kill others struggling like he was as an infant. He was fortunate as young adult because he had the resources to do and eat what he wanted to . Even with the privilege he was responsible with his diet, and he kept what he ate in a tight program supplied by his boxing trainers.
